About the Blog

Last Updated: 04/11/2013

Geaux to Physical Therapy is authored by Monique Serpas, PT, DPT, OCS.  The blog is for those who are currently receiving physical therapy services or who would like to learn more about physical therapy.  Blog topics will include injury prevention, conditions treated by physical therapists, descriptions of treatment techniques, and other helpful information to keep you moving and healthy.  The digital age has allowed everyone access to so much information, which has been empowering, but overwhelming. One of the most important aspects of physical therapy is education and through this website I can present information to my clients and readers in a format that can be referenced wherever and whenever needed.  Any medical or health advice provided and hosted on this site will only be given by me, a trained & licensed physical therapist, or another qualified health professional.  A clear statement will accompany any piece of advice offered that is from a non-medically qualified individual or organization.

Why “Geaux” instead of “Go?”

I am from Louisiana, where many words end in “-eaux,” which is pronounced like the letter “O.”  I’m proud of my roots and my alma mater and the title of the site is a reflection of this pride.  Geaux Tigers!
