Geaux to Physical Therapy is authored by Monique Serpas, PT, DPT, OCS. The blog is for those who are currently receiving physical therapy services or who would like to learn more about physical therapy. Blog topics will include injury prevention, conditions treated by physical therapists, descriptions of treatment techniques, and other helpful information to keep you moving and healthy. The digital age has allowed everyone access to so much information, which has been empowering, but overwhelming. One of the most important aspects of physical therapy is education and through this website I can present information to my clients and readers in a format that can be referenced wherever and whenever needed. Any medical or health advice provided and hosted on this site will only be given by me, a trained & licensed physical therapist, or another qualified health professional. A clear statement will accompany any piece of advice offered that is from a non-medically qualified individual or organization.
Why “Geaux” instead of “Go?”
I am from Louisiana, where many words end in “-eaux,” which is pronounced like the letter “O.” I’m proud of my roots and my alma mater and the title of the site is a reflection of this pride. Geaux Tigers!
A Complement to Professional Care
The information provided on this site is designed to support, not replace, the relationship that exists between a patient/site visitor and his/her existing medical provider. Information is provided for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional advice. You should seek the advice of your health care professionals in all matters relating to your health.
This site is funded through my own personal investment. My site displays advertising and sells exercise PDFs that are financial sources of income. All promotional or advertisement information such as articles, banners, or logos, will be clearly indicated and easily identifiable with the word “Advertisement” or “AdChoices” above the advertisement or in the lower-right corner of the banner or logo.
I make every effort, where appropriate, to support information contained on this site with clear references to source data and, where possible, to have specific HTML links to that data. The date when a page was last modified will be clearly displayed (e.g. at the top or bottom of the page).
Any claims relating to the benefits/performance of a specific treatment, commercial product or service will be supported by appropriate, balanced evidence in the manner outlined above in Source Attribution.
I seek to provide information in the clearest possible manner and provide contact addresses for visitors that seek further information or support. If you have a question related to a specific post that I’ve written, it is best to add your comment at the bottom of that post via the comments section. Otherwise you can contact me via my other Social Media profiles or via EMAIL (Click here to display).
